Over the past nine years I have been working as an educator, I have experience with kindergarten
through high school in various subjects. During college I studied mathematics as my undergrad and also have a minor in
Spanish. After my B.S. I completed a Masters in Education, with an emphasis in special
education. In addition, I completed a year of teaching abroad in China.
Since I can remember, I have always been passionate and curious about education. Mostly
because as a teacher I have the opportunity to guide students towards a brighter and successful
future. In my personal experience, it takes one teacher to make a difference, I would like to be
that teacher. What I love the most about my job is that I can see their progress and growth. Their
curiosity always keeps me looking for more resources to bring into class and grow as a teacher.
As a teacher, I have the chance to promote and portray scary subjects, like mathematics, to be
more approachable, relatable and doable.
I was born and raised in Mexico, coming to California and learning English was hard; however,
math was always a universal language that helped me feel myself. Since middle school I knew I
wanted to be a math teacher. I can say today, I am doing my dream job and I love coming to
work everyday. I recently got married and I have a dog named Tangent, who means the world to
me! Yes, his name was inspired by my love for math.
A fun fact about me is that my brain is larger than the average brain, less than 1% of the
population has this condition! I also love traveling and we try to travel twice a year, emerging
into new cultures is truly a beautiful experience, I love being a citizen of this world!
